This week, Steve and DJ had a blast catching up with the live audience before diving into a pair of very different home theater experiences. They kicked things off with Darkest Hour, which sparked the start of a new mini-series of World War II films leading into Dunkirk. From their perspective, this was one of those reminder discs that shows exactly why we love this hobby: a riveting performance from Gary Oldman, stunning close-up cinematography, reference-quality 4K detail, and an unexpectedly sophisticated sound mix that makes quiet rooms, distant machinery, and wartime atmospherics feel just as immersive as any action movie.

They also revisited Masters of the Universe on Prime, and it turned into one of the most fun streaming experiences they’ve had in a while. The movie leans fully into its colorful, silly, nostalgic energy, and they had a great time talking about its bold visuals, playful humor, and surprisingly big Atmos presentation. To close things out, the guys wrapped their Mummy retrospective with The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor—and let’s just say that one landed with a thud compared to the rest. All in all, this episode was a celebration of why we keep pressing play: great performances, great presentation, and the joy of discovering what works brilliantly in a home theater.
