Steve and DJ are back from a short break and diving straight into a packed episode full of movie and home theater talk. They kick things off by thanking new patron Carol Laymon for the support, then they get into one of the biggest tech discussions of the week: Kaleidescape’s new Strato K. While the 8K headline grabs attention, what really got them talking was the jump in bitrate and the new “4K cinematic” downloads. They explore why this might be a real turning point for home theater—not because of resolution, but because of the increased picture information, cleaner gradients, richer color detail, and what that could mean for the future of discs, downloads, and premium playback.
