In this episode, Steve and DJ had a blast digging into one of the wildest recent home theater experiences they’ve had: Lee Cronin’s The Mummy. From the host chair, DJ kept coming back to the same point: whatever you think of the movie itself, this is exactly the kind of over-the-top horror title that can absolutely light up a serious home theater. They talked about the movie’s bonkers Evil Dead-style energy, its graphic practical gore, and especially the way the sound design and bass completely take over the room. They also had a fun side discussion about divisive movie opinions in general, sparked by an impromptu debate over Brendan Fraser’s The Mummy and how great communities form when people feel free to love or hate the “wrong” movie out loud.

The guys also checked in on a few other titles, including Supergirl, which they both found more enjoyable than some reactions might suggest, even if it plays more like a fun comic-book episode than a major event film. Beyond that, they revisited older and newer releases like Soldier and In the Gray, looking at how presentation can elevate material in unexpected ways. Along the way, they celebrated the podcast reaching listeners in 109 countries, talked about what really makes a great demo-worthy home theater experience, and kept the focus where it belongs: the sights, the sounds, and the scenes that make movie night memorable.
