In this episode, Steve and DJ kick things off with their October vampire theme and dive into the Swedish original Let the Right One In. From a home theater perspective, this one really stood out for its atmosphere-first design: subtle detail, an incredibly low noise floor, and a soundtrack that rewards a quiet room and careful listening. As a film, they found it haunting, emotional, and layered, mixing horror, coming-of-age drama, and fairy-tale-like storytelling in a way that makes it ideal for a cold Halloween-season watch.
The guys also continued their road to Avengers: Doomsday with a revisit of 2012’s The Avengers, celebrating it as both a foundational MCU film and a reference-level home theater disc with exceptional 4K image quality and immersive audio. From there, they crossed over to DC to talk about Supergirl, which impressed them with razor-sharp detail, vivid HDR, and standout Atmos audio, making it one of the year’s biggest home theater surprises. They wrapped up with spoiler-free thoughts on the Lanterns season finale, including how much stronger the Kaleidescape presentation is compared to streaming and why the series feels like the beginning of something much bigger for the DCU.
