“If you can’t laugh while talking Home Theater, you’re doing something wrong.”

Right?

Push Play and hear for yourself.

Steve and DJ battled tech gremlins and summer weather to kick off a packed live show, complete with an unexpected unboxing: a signed USA hockey jersey from Bud Schneider—cue the “Schneider cut” joke and minimal first-aid. From there, they dove straight into our new front-loaded show title segment with two big home-theater highlights on Disney+: The Punisher: One Last Kill and Sam Raimi’s Send Help. Steve and DJ shared why Bernthal’s Frank Castle is at his raw, feral best here—grim character drama balanced with punishingly precise action, razor‑clean detail, and crunching, visceral sound design. Send Help delivered Raimi’s signature blend of thriller, slapstick shock, and eye‑popping Dolby Vision/Atmos spectacle—plane-crash bass, stormy atmospherics, and gorgeously saturated island vistas—plus Rachel McAdams in a layered lead turn that’s equal parts cunning and cathartic.

The guys also covered the theatrical shocker Obsession—an unnerving, conversation-starting 4:3 indie that weaponizes claustrophobia and confronts coercive control through a disturbing “be careful what you wish for” lens—along with Arrow’s stellar new 4K of Blue Thunder, a jaw-dropping upgrade with inky blacks, crisp daylight detail, and a cleaner 5.1 mix that still begs for Atmos. To round things out, Steve recommended Netflix’s British undercover drama Legends (4K DV/Atmos), a tense, accessible 90s-set true-crime yarn with sharp writing and strong performances. Lively chat, guilty-pleasure confessions (Speed Racer, anyone?), and plenty of home-theater geekery made this a fast two hours—now go push play.
