This week, Steve and DJ had a blast diving into why Avengers: Endgame still feels like a perfect movie. They talked about the impossible storytelling challenge Marvel pulled off by weaving together a decade of character building, dozens of major players, and an emotional payoff that still lands on rewatch. That naturally launched our official countdown to Doomsday, starting with X-Men and setting up the path ahead through the Marvel timeline. They broke down why the original X-Men still matters, how well it holds up in a home theater, and why revisiting these movies now feels like the perfect excuse to remember why these characters connected with us in the first place.
The guys also spent time on the home theater side of things, including a very cool personal update: thanks to the generosity of a friend in the community, DJ is one big step closer to getting his theater back up and running. On the review front, they covered the 4K release of Troy, where the video impressed more than the audio, and they did not hold back on their disappointment with Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey. To end on a high note, Steve and DJ talked about how much fun Lanterns continues to be, both as a show and as a surprisingly strong home theater experience, with great bass and atmosphere that really stand out even on streaming.
